4th Graders explored the concept of culture by discussing what makes up someones identity. They created images to include in their jars to help demonstrate what makes up their individual culture.

Third graders broke into small groups to complete a design challenge using a set amount of materials. Every group was given 10 straws and a roll of tape to create anything they could think of. They could also use scissors to cut the straws if they wanted. Here are the amazing results....look how different they all are!
As a fun, final project of their time as James Ward artists, 8th graders learn and practice basic sewing skills in the creation of these "ugly" dolls (but really, just cute!).
Students were introduced to the art of stop motion animation for this fun and creative project made by the 7th graders! I just love how unique each of them are and how brave the students were to try something new for the first time. They really knocked it out of the park!
Every year, the 7th graders complete a collaborative grid drawing of a famous African American to celebrate Black History month. This year, we decided to honor principal Anderson who will be retiring after countless years of service at James Ward. Here is the amazing result!
